Please be aware that the services of a psychologist are not covered by your government-sponsored (Alberta Health) benefits (except when those services are provided by staff psychologists across the course of an inpatient hospitalization); however, most extended healthcare plans (corporate sponsored and/or private pay) do offer coverage for psychotherapy services when obtained from a Registered Psychologist.
It is not our practice to “direct-bill” your insurance provider or other third-party payers. Instead, you will receive, at each session, a receipt that documents the service you obtained, the stated fee for that service, and the amount and method of your payment, which you can then reference in support of your claim for reimbursement of some, or all, of your costs, according to the terms of your coverage.
